The best part about being a teacher is that when the waves are firing up down the street I can blow off work at 3 and catch a few rides before it gets dark at 430. The worst part is knowing I still have to correct those papers. So it goes.



New England has been pretty rubbish in terms of boating this fall. All of the rain seems to fall at the coast, which means no water in rivers. That being said, we have had a decent surf season.

I was thrilled to have the opportunity to return to the Moose River (NY) this October. Coming from Boston, the Moose is a six hour drive, more with traffic (in other words, more). I paddled the Moose two years ago. It was high water and at the time it was the hardest thing I had paddled.
